Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
This explains what Pdfmadeazy Library collects about you, why, and what choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We cannot read your password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and verified email address from Google, never your Google password.
- Sign-in records: the time, IP address and device details for each sign-in.
- Reading activity: which books you open, how many pages you read, your last page and the books you save.
- Payment records: plan, amount, date and Paystack reference. Your card or bank details go to Paystack and are never stored by us.
- School membership: the organization you joined, if any.
- School billing details: for schools that register, the organization name, contact person, billing email, phone, city and state, and the invoices and payments for the account.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact support.
Why we use it
- To run your account, confirm payments and give you access.
- To enforce the device limit and detect sharing or copying, which protects the books we provide.
- To send email you need: verification, password reset and receipts or access notices.
- To give schools their usage reports and to help you with support requests.
Who sees it
- Service providers that run the library for us: Paystack (payments), Resend (email), Cloudflare (file storage) and our database and hosting providers.
- Your school’s administrators, if you joined through a school code. They can see your name, email, last login, IP address and reading activity.
- Authorities, only where the law requires it.
We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising trackers.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It lasts up to 7 days.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. Payment records are kept as long as accounting and legal rules require. You can ask us to delete your account and we will remove personal data we are not required to keep.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us from your registered email and we will respond.
Younger readers
If you are under 18, please use the library with the knowledge and consent of a parent, guardian or your school.
Security and changes
Passwords are hashed, sessions are protected, and access to the database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure. If this policy changes, the date above will change too.
